The tale of Mantak

In the boundary of Bugyas and Kyangan there is a place called Ahin. There is a hunter called Mantak because of the death of his wife he will go in a journey to discover new places.

Mantak: ayeei sah ngan ngani eht uppay san panag aani si kamote mo (ughh oh its almost time to harvest the sweet potatoes)

Lungayban: sha ampay ta omey ak min sakdo kad si danom ay mainum (yes your right, I should go and fetch some drinking water.)

Mantak: cge mayat sa mayat sah ta min sapo ak abe si bito tan nay ay ngan ngani ay panag aani abe eht sigurado ay omali han deyda otik adey eht sigurado ay kanen da san kamote (ok that’s good that’s good I should also go and make some traps because its almost time for harvest and I know that those wild boar will come and eat the sweet potatoes.)

Mantak: hmm ta min sapo ak kad si dakkel ay bito ta dakkel mitlang ay otik din mabito (hmm I should make a big trap so that a big wild boar will be trapped)

A few days later a big wild boar was trapped in mantaks trap.

Lungayban: ta omey ak kad ed garden ta omey ak min ani si kamote

Mantak: ala cge ta min balsig ak si kaiw ta wada isunod (ok you should go, I should also chop some fire woods.)

A few hours later lungayban goes to their garden to harvest the sweet potatoes

Lungayban: ni kaman wada nabito ay otik mo isnan sinapon matak ta omey ko man inalan no dakkel ( oh looks like their was a wild pig that got caught in mantaks trap ill go see it if its big)

Lungayban: ni ayee pay na nay ay dakkel oppay mo yuh takong mit uppay gayam. ( ohh its so big and its also a mother pig)

Lungayban: ta peslek din takung anay ta wada I pangan me ed wani ay kag aw ( ill kill this pig so that we will have a lunch)

Lungayban: ayiee min paliligsa mo tulong! Tulong! Uckkk ( shit its too stong help!help! Uckk)

Mantak: LUNGAYBAN! LUNGAYBAN! Unto tiam lungayban………… apid ka pay nangtaynan ( lungayban lungayban! Where are you…….. Why did you leave me)

After Mantak saw her wife’s dead body he was sadden because of the lost of his wife.

Mantak: ayeii talaga oppay ay kasasadot no mamaedan ka si asawa (its really so frustrating if you have lost a wife)

Mantak: ta omey ak min pakada kin da ama ya kin ina ta omey ak manganop ta adi ak min sasadot ( I should go and get the blessing of mother and father to on a hunting so that I wont be sad.)

Mantak: ama ina min pakada ak ta omey ak min Anop tanay natey si asawak eht adik ammo no hino iyat ko ( father mother I should get your blessing to go hunting because of the lost of my wife I was sadden and don’t know what to do with my life.)

Ina: ala cge ta iturong kabunyan sik a no unto han dapat ay umayam ( ok you should go and god will show the direction you will go)

Ama : ayagam din aso anay ta wada kadwam ( you should take this dog as a companion)

Mantak: salamat ay ama ta ina ta omey ak eht( thank you mother and father I should go)

And mantak goes to a journey they climbed the mountain and saw a large village in tadian Mantak: ayeii dakedake di ay ili mo ( woah this village is so large)

And after a long travel mantaks do suddenly ran so fast that he left mantak

Mantak: ayeii eman din aso adey apid lalawa nang taynan ta unodek eht nalang han gatin na anay ( that dog left me alone u should just folliw his trail)

Meanwhile the dog saw a pig and is barking at the wild pig and two girls saw it and helped the dog

Lusha: sugaypan deydi bango enta anupin ta wada e bang et ta ( sugaypan look theirs a wild boar lets go hunt it)

Sugaypan: ala enta ( ok lets go)

sugaypan: gapo isnan aso alalistu ta ay naanupab han bango ( thanks to the dig the hunting was easier)

Lusha: hya yuh( your right) Sugaypan: ta utoen ta eht han otik ta wada epangan ta ( lets cook the pig so that we will have some side dish)

And mantak aappeared while the girls was cooking

Mantak: ni ammo you uppay ay min parti mo ( oh so you guys know hot to butcher the pig huh)

Lusha: and suggaypan: ay asom oppay na ala sid im han nay karni anay ta mangan tako no mauto ( oh so this is your dog you should wait for the meat to be cooked so that we will eat)

Mantak: naimass di ahh nabsunabsug ak mo hahaha(ughh that was delicious Im so full)

Lungayban: ala ta omey kami eht ituloy mo eht ay omey isnan omayam ( ok we should go you should also continue your journey )

Mantak: Andiak eht ammo han danan ay sumaa unto eht adi na lang ta awitek din karni (I don’t know the way to my home so I should just go with you guys and ill also carry the meat)

sugaypan and laylani : cge omunod ka garud hahahaha ( ok should follow us then hahahha)

Mantak: hahahah

Meanwhile in Baggingey

Am ama: ayeii pay ta omali din the babae ay inmey nin laba mo baka inalan di dayu daida enta ko anapen daida ( why is it that the girls who goes to wash their laundry still not coming back we should go find them maybe they were abducted by men)

sugaypan: adi you eyayaat sa tay kadwami ay nangan si mantak eht ibawal kabunyan no pugutan you ulo na ( don’t do that because we ate with him and the god wont like it if you chop his head)

am ama: ………

Sugaypan: elam ay mantak ta adim as asidigan han lal lalaki ana da tay inayan ( don’t get close to those men because its dangerous)

Awisan: ala usto eht sah ekaan you adi u aabangan si mantak tanay nakikakan uppay sisya kin sugaypan ( enough don’t try to abduct mantak because he eat with sugaypan)

Mantak: salamat kin sik a ah ay awisan eht egay da inala sak in ( thank you ay awisan because of you they dint abduct me)

Awisan: ………

A few days later mantak falls in love with sugaypan

Mantak: sugaypan nay kayman di kamote ay inalak ta utoek ta wada kanem ( sugaypan here’s some sweet potatoes ill go cook et for you to eat)

Sugaypan: salamat ay mantak ( thank you mantak)

After a few months with dedication to show that mantak really loves sugaypan finally sugaypan wants to be with mantak and they are going to ask sugaypans father to ask his blessing

Mantak: Ama ay awisan kindawek kuma din iman sugaypan tan nay ay min nilnilayad kami eht ta min kasal kami kidawen mo kuma manapakawan mo (father awisan I would like to take the hands of sugaypan because we love each other and were planning to get married)

Awisan: eht sha adi no talaga ay min nilnilayad kayo (ok if you really like each other then go for it)

A few years later mantak and sugaypab has 2 children ngus- itan and ba-ugan

Mantak: tan nay ay anggay wada dwa ay anak ko ta itek eht adi sina bagingey (I have already two children so I should settle down here in bagingey)

Pablo: anggay wada dwa ay anak mantak dapay adi eht min pa kakan mo ( mantak has already 2 children why is that mantak don’t give a blowout)

Maria: sha ampay ( yeah your right)

Bab bain: han anak na metlang han min I pangpango si bawet isunga nay nadadael din para bayu isapo da si bawet. ( because of his children the pang bayu is getting destroyed because they make it as a flop top)

Mantak: pasinsha kin dakayou ta sumaa ak ta omey ak min ala si otik ay par tien tako ( im sorry ill go home in ahin and take some pig for us to butcher)

Mantak traveled togo back in ahin to take some pig to butcher for the blessing of his children.

Mantak: ama ina unto kayo pay? Ama ina? Anggay ado ado han sapot hina baey mo ado paylang han kaiw ay egay kaputol( mother father where are you? Mother father? There are so many cobwebs and grown trees)

ina and ama: talaga ay kagsa ay anak anggay naam ama kami gamin isunga kagsa ( were already old that’s why)

mantak: cge garud ay ama ya ina ta linisak eht garud han baey ya putulek han kaiw ta wada isunud you ( ok ill clean the house and will cut the trees so you will have
firewood’s)

Few days later

Ama: salamat ay anak eht deydadlo eht nalinisan han baey ya han batawa ( thank you son at least the backyard got clean and the house too)

Mantak omali ak gayam mitlang min ala si otik tan anggay wada twa eht ay ap o you ta maipartian da iman ( I also came here to take some pigs for your grandsons)

Ama: anggay wada eht uppay apo me ala min ala ka si utik ayagam eht daida ( so you slready han a 2 sons ok call the pigs and take them)

Mantak: salamat ay ama (thank you father)

Mantak omali kayu eht ay otik unoden you sakin ( come bere pigs follow me)

Pigs: oink oink oink oink Mantak: ta omey kami eht ay ama ( ok well get going now father)

Mantak and the pigs traveled a long distance to go to bagingey but the pigs cant climed the mluntains so.

Mantak: otik panaden you han bilig ta wada min danan tako ( pigs flatten the mountains so that we will have road to walk)

Pigs: oink oink oink

A few days later Mantak: ayei mayamayat uppay din ili anay mo ( woaah this village is so beautiful)

Mantak: kakadwa omali kayu ta partien tako han otik anay ( brothers come and lets butcher some pigs)

After the joyful party a drought unexpectedly came to bagingey so mantak decided to go found some water and the dog wants mantak to follow him so mantak decided to follow the dog.

Mantak: ala enta garud ( ok lets go) Mantak: ni naawy di lubbong mo ( oh look theirs a well)

Dog : woof woof woof Mantak ay wada paylang lubbong eht? ( are their still more well?)

Mantak ado ado ay lubbong (there are so many well)

Mantak: idwani pangadanak sik a si lub-ong ( im going to call you lub ong)

Mantak min rugi id wani min ti ak eht sina ta wada min mula an ( starting today im going to stay here to plant)

And years pass by where mantak was staying was called lub ong named after his dog who found so many lubbong after so many years it was soon called lubon where people go to fetch some water and Mantak was soon known to have some mighty power who can do anything.
