This story is about the farmers that had little harvest because their rice fields are pestered by rats.
GATAN:Aye pi danan utut anay da mo nay pirmi ay man abus da nan pagey mo, nay atiatik nan na apit ay kanen.(This rats are unstoppable they had eaten all the rice,the harvest was not good)
LUMAWIG:Man sapo ta si pakat ta depapen ta danan magan anay da tanay paty ed payew ko yan permi.(We should make traps for this rats because they had also eaten my rice plant)
GATAN:Wen man pakat ta c malmalem ta sitapay umey ilan c wakas cn agsapa.Pay an ta c papan na ay nakedtan ta no ad da maala no kanen dan papan matey da.(Yes,we will set our trap in the afternoon and we will put poison on our bait so that they will be poisoned)
LUMAWIG:Aa wen masapa ta sakbay man paila nan agew.(that’s a good idea we will go see our traps early in the morning )
Kawakasan na inmey da inila nan pakat da, dinumna da et naila da ay maid naala cn pakat da.(The next day they went to their farm to check their traps but all they saw was their trap untouched.)
GATAN:Aye pi kinalaing da anay mo nay paty han papan et nay egay da kinutkuti mo.(This rats are smart they did not even touched the bait)
LUMAWIG:Iyat tat pi cna c nay kaman da et ammo ya.(what should we do now,they know that those are traps.)
GATAN:Wen garod, ikararag tat ad ta sapay ta badangan apo dyos dayta.(yes let’s just hope that god will help us)
LUMAWIG:Wen tanay aye permi.(Yes Because its so disapointing)
Nan kararag da ta sapay kuma ta ad et kanekanen danan utot nan pagey ay enda inmulmula.Nan mula da kasin c pagey ta bareng waday maapit da.
Inmey nn bebewew da Gatan yas Lumawig sinan payew da ta ad kanen dadi pitpitok ya utot han begas di pagey da.(They prayed that the rats will no longer eat their plants.They planted rice again and look after so that the rats and birds will not eat their harvest.)
GATAN:Lumawig! ..ay mayat sa pagey mo sa?(Lumawig!..are your plants doing well?)
LUMAWIG:Wen nay laton ay mayat met dadlo.(yes,they are not eaten by rats.)
GATAN:Sapay kuma ta kandana engengana ta wday kanen.(I hope that its like this forever so that there’s food always.)
Napalabas nan kaatna ay tawen et mayat nan apit da et mayat san byag da.Nan pasalamat da en apo tan natongpal danan kararag da.Isay agsapa inmey si Gatan ed salolongan na et enda man ani et wadan naila na ay animal ay wday upat ay siki na man sirsireng nan kudil na ya kaman uweg weno bakbak nan itsura na.(Years past by and their harvest is plentiful.They thanked god for his blessings .One morning Gatan went to his farm and he saw a four legged animal with shinny skin that looks like a snake or a frog)
GATAN:Ay sino pi na, nay kaeegyat mo.(What is this,its scary)
Binogawan na si Lumawig idi naila na san animal ta umali ta ilan na dedan.inila da ay dua nan animal.(He called Lumawig when he saw that animal and they both saw it)
LUMAWIG:Sino pay na nay edwanik lang ay maila na mo asidegan ta kad bareng madpap ta.what kind of animal is this,this is the first time that I saw like this,let’s catch it)
GATAN:Wen(yes)
Inasidegan da nan animal ngem tinmagtag ay dagos et nadipos cn kasusuukan.(they almost caught the ananimal but its quick and easily escaped)
LUMAWIG:Aye nay na paspas ay tinmagtag d mo.(its fastt)
GATAN:Baka sya d san umegyatan danan utot isunga ad dan umalali et et mayat danan pagey.(Maybe thats tthe one that is scaring the rats
LUMAWIG:Ay wen ya!,(yeah mmaybe it is)
GATAN:Man sapo ta c kandadi di itsura na ay rebulto ta ipaey ta sin pantewan d agamang bareng kad ya ad dan segpen. (We will make an sculpture that looks like that and put it in tthe door of our storage so tthat they will not enter our stock.)
LUMAWIG:Wen ibaga ta metlang sinan kailyan ta nan naila ta ay sana ta mabadangan da metlang.(Yes we will also tell it to our neighbors so tthat they will do desame.)
Nan sapo da c rebolto ay kaman san animal adey et inpaey da san pantew di agamang.Pati danan kakailyan da et sya nan inyat da et nanipod cde mayat et han panag biyag d amin ay mangili. (They made sculptures of that animal and placed them on the doors of their storage,the others also did the same.Starting from there they always had plentiful harvest.)
